What Is Forest Therapy? Forest Therapy, as practiced by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT), is inspired by the practice of Forest Bathing or Shinrin-Yoku. Shinrin-Yoku was developed in Japan in the 1980’s after the country’s leaders noticed an increased rate of cancers and chronic illness as technological advances with computers drew people indoors and out of nature.
Time spent in nature can lower cortisol levels, improve mood, and support overall wellness. Forest Therapy creates the space to experience these benefits in a grounded, meaningful way.

“Stacey’s Forest Therapy Walk was truly beautiful. I was way out of my comfort zone being out in the cold, but I realized it was just the medicine I needed. Her guidance felt gentle and grounding, and the way she offered invitations to explore felt so welcoming and easy. I felt safe. I felt held by the trees. I felt deeply welcome. Thank you, Stacey for an experience that I look forward to revisiting again and again. ”
